In my spare time, I'm the head coach for a competitive gymnastics club in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Coaching is very rewarding, and helps me maintain a balanced lifestyle. MNP has supported and encouraged my volunteer commitment by giving me the flexibility I need to make a difference to the gymnastics community.

When our Courtenay office on Vancouver Island lost an audit manager, I became part of the team responsible for most of the office's audits. I was enjoying the assurance work but I also wanted a change. When I learned about the internal secondments offered by MNP, it sounded like the type of opportunity I was looking for.
Based on my career goals and interests, I pursued a secondment in the Assurance Professional Standards Group in Calgary. I now have a much stronger technical base of accounting and assurance knowledge, which means I can tackle more difficult accounting issues, which is assisting in my career development back on the Island.
