Biography:

Wayne McWhirter, FCA, is a Partner and Vice President of Quality Management for the firm and is part of MNP’s Assurance Services group in Winnipeg. With almost 30 years of experience, Wayne delivers accounting, tax and business advisory services to owner-managed and family-run businesses.

Wayne’s in-depth industry knowledge is a key factor in his ability to analyze individual situations and develop customized solutions to financial and business issues. As well as assisting clients with compliance, he advises on relevant tax planning and provides a range of business planning services, ensuring his clients have the tools they need to achieve their growth objectives.

Priding himself on delivering superior service, Wayne works one-on-one with each client, developing an understanding of each unique business. This personalized approach allows him to tailor strategies so they work in tandem with other aspects of the business, address unique challenges and contribute to the client’s ability to meet overall strategic goals.

Wayne was designated a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1981, and his FCA in 2011. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba. He completed the Canadian Securities Course in 1984 and has volunteered with numerous organizations, including the Southwood Golf Club, Manitoba Research Institute, Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Chamber of Commerce and acted as Chair of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce.
