Biography:
Gil Assie, CA, CMC is an agribusiness advisory services specialist in MNP’s Saskatoon advisory office. Gil provides agribusiness clients with a wide range of accounting and advisory services, including management consulting, corporate finance, assurance and taxation.
Gil has an excellent track record using management and financial information system models to improve his clients’ overall efficiency and productivity. In addition to developing value-added feasibility studies and business plans for numerous agribusiness enterprises, Gil has helped prospective investors complete due diligence for investments in the agri-business sector.
Gil has extensive U.S. trade investigation expertise and has played a leading role in defending Canadian cattle, swine and Western Canadian wheat industries against anti-dumping and countervailing trade investigations undertaken by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Gil is also experienced in the intensive livestock and ethanol fuel sectors.
In addition to being a member of the Canadian Consulting Agrologists Association, Gil is a past advisory committee member responsible for strategic research for the University of Saskatchewan’s Value-Added Processing Program.
Gil graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and later earned his Chartered Accountant and Certified Management Consultant designations.
