Biography:

James Byrne, CA, is a Business Advisor and a member of MNP’s Forestry Services Team.. Based in Nanaimo, James delivers a broad range of accounting and compliance tax solutions as well as ongoing business advice to logging contractors and other businesses linked to the forestry sector.

Possessing a rare combination of industry knowledge, firsthand experience in operational logging and an engineering background, James brings a unique perspective to rate negotiations and operational cost analyses. He also assists clients with financial benchmarking and uses his industry knowledge and expertise to conduct in-depth diagnostics of forestry operations.

James is skilled at building relationships and works closely with his clients to understand their operations from a business perspective. This understanding allows him to help them make the most informed decisions for their companies and, ultimately, achieve their personal and business goals.

James received his Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia in 1998 and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from McMaster University in 2003. In 2008, he earned his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation.. Committed to the logging and forestry sector, James is an active member of the Truck Loggers Association and serves on the editorial board for Truck Logger Magazine.
