Federal Minister of Finance James M. Flaherty delivered the Conservative government’s Federal Budget on Tuesday, March 22, 2011; however, the Budget was not adopted prior to the dissolution of Parliament on March 26, 2011. Mr. Flaherty re-introduced the 2011 Federal Budget on Monday, June 6, 2011, restating all of the same measures previously announced in March. The new budget emphasizes the Government’s intention to eliminate the deficit and return to a balanced budget by 2014-15.
