HKM & Partners, Chartered Accountants joins Meyers Norris Penny LLP
Surrey, B.C. – Oct. 24, 2006 – HKM & Partners (HKM) and Meyers Norris Penny LLP (MNP) announced today the merger of their practices effective Jan. 1, 2007, at which time HKM will operate under the name Meyers Norris Penny LLP. HKM has been providing professional services since 1979 to a wide range of midmarket clients throughout the Lower Mainland, including ownermanaged businesses, the auto industry, and nonprofit organizations.
Wayne Lenihan CA, a partner at HKM, says he had a great feeling about MNP right from the start. “The cultures of our two firms are very similar; we both believe in taking the time to get to know our clients, to understand their needs, and to provide customized advice to help them reach their business and personal goals. Knowing we shared that common belief was of critical importance to us,” he explains.
Lenihan adds the merger will enable existing and future clients in the Lower Mainland to benefit from a much broader range of accounting and business advisory services. MNP’s areas of expertise are diverse, ranging from traditional accounting and tax services to specialized solutions in supply chain management, risk management, corporate finance, forensic accounting, human resource consulting, succession planning and business valuations. “We are excited to be able to offer our clients expanded business advice through this extensive network of resources.”
For MNP, the merger is an ideal fit with the firm’s strategy to expand its presence in the B.C. marketplace through firms that share the same culture and business approach. “We’re building a solid base on Vancouver Island as well as in Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and the Okanagan. This merger makes sense for both our teams, and will enable us to meet the growing needs of businesses in the Lower Mainland,” says MNP’s chief executive officer Daryl Ritchie, FCA.
