Hill & Partners merges with Meyers Norris Penny

Local accounting firm joins leading Western Canadian accountancy and business advisory firm

Duncan, B.C. – Dec. 14, 2006 – Hill & Partners today announced they have merged with Meyers Norris Penny LLP (MNP), the only Top 10 national chartered accountancy and advisory firm based in Western Canada. Through the merger, which becomes effective Jan. 1, 2007, Hill & Partners will be known as Meyers Norris Penny LLP.

Cindy Wilson, CA, a partner with the newly merging Duncan firm, says the merger will enable clients to access a wider range of accountancy and advisory services as well as enhance its ability to attract and retain outstanding professionals.

“As a firm based in the West, Meyers Norris Penny is known for providing superb service while maintaining a personalized approach to doing business. Their excellent reputation, combined with the diverse career opportunities available, will enable us to expand our team to continue meeting the growing needs of the
Duncan and area business community.”

Cindy adds that MNP’s culture is another advantage to both clients and staff. “MNP has evolved from mergers with local firms similar to ours. As a result, they offer the services you would expect of a large firm, while maintaining a friendly, approachable style of doing business.” MNP’s diverse services range from accounting and taxation advice to customized solutions in supply chain management, risk management, corporate finance, succession planning and other areas.

According to MNP chief executive officer Daryl Ritchie, FCA, the Duncan merger also reflects MNP’s Western roots and its rapid growth in the B.C. marketplace. “As a Western Canadian firm, we’ve gained an in-depth understanding of local markets, and can develop customized strategies to assist our clients in achieving both their business and personal goals.”

MNP entered the B.C. marketplace in 2003, and will have 11 offices across the province as of Jan. 1, 2007. “We’re looking forward to continuing that expansion in the months ahead,” says Ritchie.
