MNP’s expansion in Northwestern Ontario to benefit businesses in the region

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 – Calgary, AB – Meyers Norris Penny LLP (MNP), one of Canada’s largest chartered accountancy and business advisory firms, announced today that Thunder Bay accounting firm, Fitzpatrick & Partners LLP will join MNP. Effective February 1, 2010, Fitzpatrick & Partners LLP will begin operating under the MNP name.

“With the addition of Fitzpatrick & Partners, we have been able to expand our reach in Northwestern Ontario and better serve the needs of businesses in the region.” said Daryl Ritchie, Chief Executive Officer of MNP. The firm also has offices in Kenora and Red Lake.

Ritchie added that this merger is an excellent example of MNP’s vision to strategically grow the firm as they continue to expand across Ontario.

Paul Fitzpatrick, Managing Partner, Fitzpatrick & Partners LLP said his firm is excited about joining MNP.

Ritchie explains that both firms share a similar approach to doing business, which will allow for a seamless transition through the merger for clients and team members.

Fitzpatrick & Partners LLP was established in 1982 when Paul Fitzpatrick and Rick Trochimchuk purchased the Thunder Bay office from a national accounting firm. Since then the office has grown from employing 6 people to more than 35 team members, including six partners. Fitzpatrick & Partners will remain in its current location.
