Wednesday, April 8, 2009 – Calgary, AB – Meyers Norris Penny LLP (MNP), a chartered accountancy and business advisory firm serving Canada’s public and private mid-market enterprises, has held onto its title of ‘Canada’s seventh largest accounting firm’, according to the April 2009 issue of The Bottom Line accounting trade publication. MNP is the only firm with headquarters in western Canada to make the top 10 list.

With its 2008 revenue totalling $260 million, MNP has experienced a revenue increase of 23.8 per cent compared to 2007, which is the highest growth in the industry.

“We have seen tremendous growth again this past year at MNP”, says Daryl Ritchie, MNP’s Chief Executive Officer. “For the last twenty years, we have expanded at an average rate of 20 per cent per year. This consistent growth can be attributed to our strategic mergers and our firm’s philosophy to build relationships with our clients. These relationships have allowed our clients to place trust in us as we commit to providing additional services to help them grow their businesses, which in turn has allowed us to continue to grow our business.”

Earlier this year, The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business magazine honoured MNP as one of the 50 Best Employers in Canada.

“This has been a significant year for MNP. Not only have we expanded our reach beyond western Canada by entering the Ontario market, but we have been recognized as a leading employer in the country,” adds Ritchie. “We are proud of all the work our team members have contributed to attain these goals and will continue to strive to maintain our position as a top employer in Canada.”

Recently, MNP also joined the global accounting network Crowe Horwath International, allowing the firm to have a much stronger North American and international reach to better serve their clients.

The current economic conditions do not seem to be slowing MNP down according to Ritchie who says MNP still plans on continuing to expand our operations across Canada throughout the next year. "This is an ambitious goal but we are confident it is one we will reach.”
