The Vice President will provide stable leadership to the organization by working closely with the
President, COO, VP Finance, In-House Legal, Chief Estimator, Chief Project Manager, General
Superintendent, Equipment/Maintenance and HR as part of a collaborative team-based culture. The Vice
President will also be looked upon to establish an inspiring but practical long-term vision and by guiding,
coaching and mentoring staff to successfully translate strategies into results and achieve a shared vision
and mission. As the leader of the Conwest Contracting Ltd, the Vice President works with highly
committed teams to establish programs and services, and then supports its achievement by continuing to
establish and nurture effective, positive working relationships, alliances and partnerships within the
community, social services agencies, funders and politicians to facilitate the establishment of shared and
measurable goals for the common good - creating, resourcing and leveraging strategies for ongoing

The successful candidate for this position will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in civil
construction including earthworks and underground utilities with at least 5 years’ experience in an upper
management supervisor capacity. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication
skills, both verbal and written with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills. Possessing
a post-secondary education in a relevant area is an asset. They will also be able to demonstrate through
their professional history, a proven track record of successful project completions or portfolios. The Vice
President must also possess an understanding of job cost reports and be a proficient scheduler and
The successful candidate will have a credible track record of developing and sustaining a wide range of
professional relationships with staff and clients. The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the
nature and value of each of these relationships.
The candidate will possess knowledge and understanding working with a union environment. They will
also have extensive experience with Timberline, Bluebeam, Agtek, Microsoft Project, Adobe, and all
Microsoft Office programs. The candidate must possess a demonstrated ability to lead and direct
construction teams, analyze issues, and bring innovative solutions to achieving work plan objectives.
