Application Process and Deadlines
We’re looking for Canadian tech startups who are seeking access to capital and strategic partners that are required for your business’ next step.

Companies must be a Canadian-founded and headquartered tech start up. Other criteria will be considered in the application process such as:
- Annual revenue
- Funding received from other investors
- Growth objectives of your organization

Applications open: Monday, July 12, 2021 - 12:00 a.m. EDT
Complete the online application here by the deadline – Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
A selection committee comprised of advisors from MNP’s Technology, Media, and Telecommunications team and BCF Ventures will review all eligible candidate applications and identify finalists.
The selection committee will consider the following criteria when evaluating applications:
- Annual revenue
- Funding received from other investors
- Growth objectives of your organization
The selection committee will consider candidates who are a good fit for the group of investors we bring to the table and the advisors that we are bringing to the program.
Successful candidates will receive a decision by Friday, August 20, 2021.
Candidates chosen to participate in the NextSteps Program will attend three consecutive weeks of workshops where our selection committee will further assess who will have the opportunity to Pitch to our curated panel of investors.
Workshop attendance is mandatory to be considered for Pitch Day and will occur on the following dates:
- Building a bulletproof pitch-ready deck: Wednesday, September 15, 2021 – 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET
- Protecting your IP and other proprietary assets: Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 – 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET
- Accessing financial resources from the government and financial institutions (SRED, iRAP, grants, and loans) Wednesday, September 29, 2021 – 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET
Select companies will be chosen to progress to Pitch Day on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.
Final decisions will be sent to successful candidates on Monday, October 4, 2021.
Selected companies will be given 10 minutes to pitch to our curated panel of investors, followed by a five minute Q&A period from our investors.
Our selection committee and investors will deliberate and announce winners on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
