<p><strong>Derek Malcolm, CPA, CA, CA•IFA</strong>, is a Partner in MNP’s Investigative & Forensic Services group. Working out of the Calgary office, Derek delivers forensic accounting, litigation support and dispute analysis services to resolve related business emergencies and protect private and public organizations across a wide range of industries and all levels of government.</p>
<p>Derek has over 30 years of professional experience and has practiced exclusively in forensic and investigative accounting since 1994. He has extensive investigation, audit, accounting and business advisory experience, which includes investigating allegations of bribery and corruption, fraud and other forms of white collar crime; quantifying losses; providing support for complex financial and business litigation and family law matters; and assisting arbitration of contract disputes.</p>
<p>Derek has provided expert testimony in Alberta Provincial Court, Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, the Federal Court and the Copyright Board of Canada. He has delivered presentations and lectures on fraud, money laundering and forensic accounting for post-secondary institutions, professional associations and law enforcement agencies.</p>
<p>Derek achieved his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in Scotland in 1982 and in Canada in 1986. He received the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation in 1995 and became a Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Investigative and Forensic Accounting (CA•IFA) designated specialist in 2000. He is a member of numerous professional associations.</p>
