MNP took home the win as the Member of the Year at this year’s BCFPA (BC Food Processors Association) FoodProWest Awards Gala dinner on June 8, 2017 at the Westin Bayshore Vancouver. The Member of the Year Award recognizes a BCFPA Member (processor or associate) that has demonstrated a high engagement level in BCFPA activities and has made a contribution to industry. MNP had been nominated for its commitment to the food processing industry, support and effort in such areas as the Membership Committee, and partnering with the BCFPA on an industry Economic Impact Study and SWOT Analysis.
“The MNP Food and Beverage Processing team helps keep a pulse on the challenges facing food and beverage processing businesses by participating in key industry associations such as the BCFPA,” said Eben Louw, B.C. Leader, Food & Beverage Processing MNP LLP. “Being recognized by such an integral association to the food processing industry is truly humbling and we are honoured.”
The Member of the Year Award is one of eight awards presented at the gala each year, including Product of the Year Award, which was proudly sponsored by MNP. Chez Christophe Chocolaterie Patisserie’s buttery, puff pastry flutes earned gold in this category at this year’s gala. The other awards categories include: Rising Star, Sustainability, Innovation, Leadership, and Workplace Safety.
BCFPA is a not-for- profit organization dedicated to represent all segments of the food, beverage and nutraceutical processing industry, and to coordinate common industry activities and resources under one umbrella. The association represents micro, small, medium, and large processing companies.

“B.C.’s dynamic food and beverage processing industry is rapidly growing and full of opportunity. However, where there’s opportunity, there’s also fierce competition and a host of complex and interrelated issues to contend with,” added Louw. “From adopting new technologies and training staff to health and safety requirements and industry consolidation, food and beverage businesses must be many steps ahead to stay competitive. We are proud to work with organizations like BCFPA, who are committed to help B.C. food processors by creating the environment to position the industry to compete and grow locally and globally; and to serve as the industry’s advocate.”
