Sylvain is a member of MNP’s Indirect Tax team in Montréal. Sylvain brings more than 25 years of experience providing tailored indirect tax services to his clients, with a personalized, practical approach.

Sylvain works closely with a wide range of clients, including entrepreneurs, institutional and not-for-profit organizations. He helps his clients understand the complex Canadian indirect tax rules and helps them minimize the risks associated with them. He ensures that his clients apply the tax rules correctly to their business environment in order to maximize refunds, credits and rebates, and represents clients before the tax authorities.

Sylvain is responsible for the Graduate Microprogram in Commodity Taxes at the University of Sherbrooke, where he is also a lecturer in the Bachelor of Administration and Master of Taxation programs. Sylvain is a regular tax conference speaker and has written numerous magazine articles.

Sylvain is also responsible for the commodity tax committee of the Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) magazine Stratège. He also participates in numerous commodity tax committees, including the organizing committee of the APFF Commodity Tax Symposium. He is co-author of the reference guide on the application of the GST and QST for public health and social services agencies and institutions (2006).

Sylvain earned a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from Université Laval in 1991 and a Master in Tax (M.Fisc.) from Université de Sherbrooke in 1997.
