David Laing, CPA, LPA

David is a Partner with MNP’s Assurance and Accounting Services group in Oshawa. Born and raised in Oshawa, David brings a strong connection to the local business community to his role, and he values building long-term relationships with his clients. David works closely with business owners and management teams to help them navigate growth, improve efficiencies, and position their businesses for long-term success. By developing a deep understanding of each client’s operations, he provides proactive advice on tax planning, business structuring, and overall financial strategy.

David works primarily with small to mid-sized businesses in the real estate, construction, and manufacturing sectors. He provides assurance, accounting, and tax services, with a strong focus on compilation, review, and audit engagements. He has significant experience supporting construction and real estate clients, delivering practical financial reporting and insights that help meet lender, bonding, and stakeholder requirements.

David earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting in 2018. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying in 2021 and holds a Public Accounting License (LPA). He serves as treasurer of Parkwood National Historic Site in Oshawa, former home of the founder of General Motors of Canada.
