Jake Corcoran, CPA

Jake is a member of MNP’s Assurance and Accounting Services team in Dartmouth. A leader with close to a decade of experience in public accounting, he works closely with private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations to help them reach their business goals.

Jake helps private businesses reporting under both Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). As a member of MNP’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications group, he works closely with companies in the technology, life sciences, and startup space. In addition, he serves dealerships, construction, and engineering clients; and not-for-profit and charitable organizations of all sizes, reporting under Accounting Standards for Not-For-Profit Organizations (ASNPO).

Jake delivers a wide variety of assurance services, including audits, reviews, compilations, and special assurance engagements. He addresses key risks, while providing guidance on accounting, systems, and controls to reduce the risk of fraud or error. He works with stakeholders to ensure that procedures align and key needs are met. He also ensures that tax planning and remuneration are considered, to ensure the best possible client outcome.

Jake received his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Saint Francis Xavier University in 2016. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying in 2019.

Jake is the treasurer of Life Sciences Nova Scotia, a not-for-profit industry association that showcases Nova Scotia’s unique position as a Life Sciences region.
