Kathleen Mitchell, CPA, CA, CIA

Kathleen is a Partner in MNP’s Assurance and Accounting Services practice in Truro. With close to a decade-and-a-half of experience, she builds collaborative client relationships, providing practical, tailored guidance to help clients navigate complex accounting, assurance, and compliance requirements with confidence. She translates technical requirements into clear, actionable advice that supports sound decision making and long‑term financial stewardship.

Kathleen works with clients across Atlantic Canada, delivering audit and assurance services to owner-managed businesses and growing entrepreneurial businesses. Her private sector experience spans a wide range of industries, including agriculture and agri-business, food and beverage production and distribution, construction and real estate, professional and other services, and investment holding and corporate group structures. She also works with not-for-profit organizations and registered charities with complex funding and governance structures.

Kathleen supports strong financial reporting, governance, and internal control environments. She leads audit and review engagements and supports clients with financial statement preparation, remuneration and tax planning, and ongoing tax compliance.

Kathleen earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) from Saint Mary’s University Sobey School of Business in 2012. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 2014 and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA 2017).

Kathleen is a board member of Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation and past chair of the board of directors, Centre of Entrepreneurship and Educational Development.
