Steve MacLean

Steve is a Partner with MNPs Digital Advisory Services team in Winnipeg. With more than three decades of information technology (IT) experience, he helps clients plan and deliver technology improvements that strengthen their organizations — from core infrastructure and business systems, to cybersecurity and emerging solutions such as artificial intelligence. He develops practical, right-sized IT strategies and road maps, supporting clients across Canada, from Newfoundland and Labrador, to Québec, Northern Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

Steve helps his clients develop multi-year plans that align technology investments with organizational priorities. He assesses their current environment — including infrastructure, applications, data, and cybersecurity — and meets with their leadership and department teams to confirm business requirements, current usage, and pain points.

Steve leads large-scale initiatives in both the public and private sectors, including engagements with provincial and federal government organizations in Canada, as well as with U.S. state governments. His work includes system selection initiatives, project management for major technology implementations, and geographic information systems implementations for governments. He translates client needs into clear business and technical requirements, and guides delivery using established software and project delivery life cycles — including Agile (Scrum), Rational Unified Process (RUP), and traditional waterfall.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCSc) from the University of Manitoba.
