Doug is a member of MNP’s Tax Services team in Calgary. With more than three decades of public accounting experience, almost exclusively focused on tax, he delivers tailored tax counsel to public and private companies, both large and small. He focuses on resource-based and service entity taxation, cross-border acquisitions and dispositions, as well as personal and estate planning.

Doug is responsible for reviewing the firm’s income tax provision and tax disclosure, as well as any income tax filings. He is also available on an as-needed basis to help with any tax-related matters or queries.

Doug is a regular presenter on taxes. He was a lecturer and faculty member for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Course, and a lecturer at many advanced tax courses.

Doug graduated from the University of Alberta in 1989 with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with an economics major and a minor in Chinese. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA). He has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants International Tax Course and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax Course.

Doug is a former board member and chair of Silvera for Seniors.
