Danny Crawford, CPA, CMA, is a Partner with MNP’s Tax Services team. Specializing in indirect tax, Danny works with private and public companies, charitable organizations, First Nation entities and various public sector entities in the municipal, educational and healthcare sectors, developing and implementing feasible solutions to tax issues.

A trusted advisor with a wealth of experience, Danny guides clients through complex tax issues and provides them with options for addressing tax obligations and entitlements. He understands the ins and out of all indirect taxes relevant in Canada, including GST / HST, PST, fuel tax, carbon tax, insurance premium taxes and other excise taxes.

Danny has advised on carbon tax and its recovery in B.C. and Alberta and assisted clients with the resolution of indirect tax disputes. He also advises on indirect tax regarding government funding arrangements with First Nations, educational institutions, research institutes, P3 arrangements and more. Danny has experience working with a broad range of industries, including medical professionals, medical facility operators, transport services, professional membership organizations, real estate and construction and financial services. He also works with non-residents.

Prior to joining MNP, Danny spent nearly 20 years with a Big Four firm. His early career was with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Danny is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary, where he majored in economics. Danny is chair of the finance committee for the Alberta Resource Centre for Quality Enhancement and volunteers with Spruce Grove Minor Hockey and Parkland Lacrosse.
