Jigisha Rana, CPA, CGA

Jigisha is a member of MNP’s B.C. International Tax Services team, based in Surrey. With close to two decades of experience, she takes pride in helping her clients simplify the complexity surrounding their U.S. and Canadian tax filing, allowing them to better understand the tax implications of their decisions and navigate U.S. and Canadian cross-border tax issues.

Jigisha helps a wide variety of clients by delivering U.S. tax services in the areas of individual, trust, and estate tax matters. She brings extensive U.S. tax technical experience to help clients with their foreign reporting obligations and advises them on structuring their personal and estate matters in an optimal manner.

Jigisha focuses on complex areas such as controlled foreign corporations, passive foreign investment companies, foreign trusts with grantor and non-grantor trust reporting requirements, estate planning, cross-border moves, and sales of U.S. real property.

She helps U.S. citizens in Canada, cross-border movers, Canadians with U.S. assets, and Canadians working in the U.S. Jigisha regularly leads planning and compliance projects to ensure proper tax treatment for U.S. citizens abroad.  

Prior to joining MNP, Jigisha was a senior manager in the U.S. personal tax group of an international accounting services firm.

Jigisha earned a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) from the University of Windsor in 2006. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Certified General Accountant (CGA) in 2011.
