Cara Sinclair, B.A., J.D., is General Counsel of MNP, one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in Canada. Cara is a Partner of the firm and also serves as the Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of MNP Corporate Finance Inc., a subsidiary of MNP that provides corporate finance and exempt market securities advisory services.

As a leader in MNP’s Legal team, Cara brings over 20 years of experience as a lawyer and business advisor to the Firm. Cara has extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities law, and risk management. She is a trusted advisor to MNP’s executive team and advises the Firm on a wide range of legal, regulatory, and governance matters. Cara combines her legal skills and knowledge with a business-minded approach and delivers practical and effective solutions aligned with the needs of the business.

Cara earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 from Brigham Young University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah in 2002. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the State Bar of Arizona and has worked on cross-border transactions and advised clients on multi-jurisdictional issues involving Canadian and US law.

Cara is active in her community, volunteering for various community sports and school organizations. She sits on the board of the Alberta Centre to End Trafficking in Persons, an organization that is focused on combating human trafficking and supporting survivors. She has also been a long-time contributor to the Civil Claims Duty Counsel project at the Calgary courthouse, where she provides free legal assistance to self-represented litigants. Cara previously served as member of the Calgary committee of the Canadian Women’s Foundation.
