Derek is a member of MNP’s Tax Services team in Waterloo / Cambridge. Derek delivers tailored advisory and tax planning solutions to

privately held entities within Canada, with a focus on small and medium-sized businesses. He listens carefully to his clients’ goals, and then develops a clear plan to help them achieve success.

Derek works one-on-one with professionals such as physicians, dental professionals, veterinarians, lawyers, financial service professionals and others – and privately held businesses in the real estate and construction, farming, retail and manufacturing industries. His services include compensation planning, business succession and estate planning, business acquisition and divestiture, tax planning using life insurance, and other tax-efficient structuring.

Derek brings more than a decade of experience to his role acquired in public practice and at the Canada Revenue Agency. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) in 2013.
