Garry is a member of MNP’s Tax Services team in Winnipeg. With more than three decades of public practice experience, he delivers Canadian tax compliance and advisory services for small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses in Winnipeg and area. A good listener and a clear, responsive communicator, Garry develops strong long-term client relationships, which allows him to deliver the most effective advice possible for his clients and their families. He designs plans to minimize their short-term tax burden, and develops long-term succession and estate plans to ensure the preservation of wealth for future generations. He works with clients at all stages of the business life cycle, from startup to retirement. He finds it deeply satisfying to watch them grow and succeed in achieving their business and personal goals.

Known for his client-focused approach, Garry delivers clear, tailored tax solutions that align with both their short- and long-term financial goals. His multidisciplinary background enables him to provide comprehensive tax planning strategies, corporate reorganizations, and guidance on complex tax legislation. He is particularly adept at advising clients on income tax minimization, succession planning, and structuring for business transitions and estate considerations.

His leadership and technical knowledge contribute to his team’s strong reputation for reliable and effective tax advisory services.

Garry earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1987. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1992. He completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program in 2000, Corporate Reorganization course in 2002, and Advanced Tax Issues for Owner-Managed Business course in 2006. He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
