Get to know Jeffrey Ng

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to help a business owner navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their life, Jeff Ng is someone you’ll want to meet. With a passion for understanding what makes businesses thrive and a deep respect for the personal journeys behind them, Jeff brings experience, empathy, and strategic insight to every conversation.

As the newest member of MNP’s Corporate Finance group, he’s already making an impression with his thoughtful approach to mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Whether a client is ready to sell, acquire, or simply planning ahead, Jeff meets them where they are and helps guide the way forward. Get to know Jeff in his own words.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what brought you to MNP?

I joined MNP in May 2025 as part of the Corporate Finance and M&A group. I’ve always had a passion for understanding businesses and learning from entrepreneurs. Being part of an entrepreneurial organization and team that helps business owners prepare for and navigate major life and business milestones felt like the perfect fit.

What’s your focus and how do you help your clients?   

I focus on M&A, advising founders, owner-operators and management teams on selling or buying businesses, and strategic planning. Since selling a business is often a once-in-a-lifetime event, my priority is to help clients prepare for that journey and work with them to achieve both their financial and personal goals. My approach is client-first — always.

What types of questions can start meaningful conversations about transition planning?

A few simple but powerful questions are: What are your plans for your business in the next three to five years? How involved do you want to be in the business at that time? And, do you know what your business is worth? These can spark deeper conversations about planning, growth, and legacy.

What inspired your interest in business advisory work?

I’ve always been curious about what makes certain companies or industries succeed. Every client has a story, and I love learning about how they’ve built their businesses. Being able to contribute to their next chapter is a privilege.

What keeps you busy outside of work?

I have two amazing young daughters who keep me on my toes. Most of my free time is spent cleaning up after them and making sure they stay out of trouble, but when life slows down a little, I enjoy photography, skiing and travelling. One of my favourite trips was a two-week adventure across Portugal — it’s such a beautiful and diverse country.  These days, with kids in tow, cruise vacations seem to be the go-to.

Any fun facts or bold predictions to share?

I once held pinkies with Russell Peters at a chance encounter in Las Vegas (Russell Peter fans will understand!). As for a bold prediction, I’m putting my faith in Connor McDavid to lead the Oilers to a Stanley Cup win in 2025. Hopefully, this prediction doesn’t age poorly!
