John is an IT Technical Specialist with MNP in Winnipeg, helping clients with Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credits. John draws on more than two decades of IT and project management experience, ranging from programming through to technical strategies for legacy software systems. He prepares SR&ED claims for Canadian software development firms and companies of all sizes across Canada.

As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), John manages projects and aligns them with each client’s requirements and objectives. His areas of claim specialization include financial trading software, financial institutions and payment management systems, game development, eCommerce, insurance, agricultural systems, and internal use software, including enhancing legacy systems. 

Working as an extension of each client’s team, John carefully analyzes each client’s information technology activities and aligns them with SR&ED requirements and objectives. His hands-on assistance involves analysis of expenditures and handling the many details of a claim. His goal is to ensure a successful claim that stands up to the rigorous scrutiny of the Canada Revenue Agency and provides each client with the highest possible returns.

John obtained a Computer Programmer diploma from CDI College of Business and Technology and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Manitoba. In 2003, he was designated an IBM Certified Associate System Administrator. He achieved PMI Certification, as a Project Management Professional (PMP), in 2018. John completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in business analytics in 2020.
