Kayan Yu, CPA, CA (Hons)

Kayan is a member of MNP’s Assurance and Accounting Services team in Vancouver. With more than a decade of diverse professional experience, she finds solutions to meet her clients’ financial reporting requirements in an efficient and cost-effective way. A solutions-oriented business advisor, she ensures expectations and deadlines are met through open communication and proactive planning.

Kayan helps a wide range of public sector organizations, including local governments, municipalities, regional districts, Crown corporations, school districts, health authorities, post-secondary institutions, First Nations and First Nation-owned businesses, not-for-profit and charitable organizations, foundations, unions, and regulatory agencies.

Her services include audit and assurance, with audit and review of financial statements prepared under Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Other services include research and analysis of complex accounting transactions and audit issues; assessment of financial controls and processes; preparation of financial statements; and governance best practices.

Prior to joining MNP, Kayan worked at two international accounting services firms.

Kayan graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in biochemistry in 2006 and a Diploma in Accounting in 2007. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying with Honours as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 2011.

Kayan is a board member and finance committee member with both the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society of British Columbia.
