Sean Pynenburg, CPA, CA

Sean is a Partner with MNP’s Tax Services group in Toronto. He brings to his role more than 15 years of experience helping clients navigate complex Canadian corporate tax matters with confidence. He delivers a broad range of tax compliance and advisory services tailored to their needs.

Sean's experience spans tax planning and compliance; corporate reorganizations, international expansion and structuring; tax accounting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE); tax audit defense; and mergers and acquisitions.

He works with clients across a broad range of industries, with extensive experience in growing private and public companies in the technology, media, and entertainment sectors, as well as advising clients in the retail, consumer products, life sciences, and manufacturing industries.

Prior to joining MNP, Sean was a director at a Big Four firm.

Sean graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) in finance in 2010. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 2013. He completed all three levels of CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Program in 2016.
