Shane Hilkowitz, CPA, CA

Shane Hilkowitz, CPA, CA, is a member of MNP’s Assurance Professional Services Group (APSG) and focuses his efforts on U.S. and Canadian reporting issuers. Based in Mississauga, Shane draws on in-depth knowledge of IFRS, U.S. GAAP and SOX 404 to help MNP’s teams plan for, assess and manage clients’ complex accounting and auditing issues. He delivers practical, workable solutions within the confines of applicable regulations.

Shane facilitates resolutions to special issues that arise to ensure clients receive the highest quality product, efficiently and effectively. He also works within the firm’s Learning and Development group to provide internal education to partners and staff on relevant guidance surrounding audit issues particular to public companies.

With more than 24 years of experience providing audit and business advisory services to fast-growth companies, including over 20 years of experience working directly with public companies, Shane has helped businesses in numerous industries, including natural resources, technology, pharmaceutical / biotech and online advertising. He brings deep regulatory knowledge from his past experiences working at the Ontario Securities Commission as well as with other national accounting firms and in industry as a vice president, finance, for U.S. and Canadian public companies.

Shane received his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) designations in 1995. He is the firm’s representative at semi-annual meetings of the Praxity™ Global Alliance of Independent Firms, a member of the Advisory Group on Implementation of Canadian Auditing Standards for CPA Canada, and a member of the IFRS Discussion Group Committee where he assists in the timely development of high-quality, non-authoritative audit and accounting guidance and support.
