Shilpa Mishra, CPA, MBA

Shilpa is a Managing Director with MNP’s Corporate Finance team in Toronto, where she specializes in capital raising and debt advisory. She helps business owners and investors secure the financing they need for the success of their business ventures and provides holistic solutions to help them achieve their business goals.

Shilpa brings more than 15 years of capital markets, advisory, and operational experience, providing support with financing, debt restructuring, and financial and strategic reviews to clients in Canada, the U.S., and Asia. She has spent time in leadership roles accountable for loan structuring, leveraged buyouts, and distressed debt; and has performed comprehensive modelling and due diligence, analyzed partnership investments, and directed project teams. She partners with private equity funds, investors, family offices, and large to mid-sized companies to source growth capital by leveraging cash flow through the use of credit facilities.

Shilpa helps companies in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, food, infrastructure, construction, real estate, and technology.

Shilpa began her career working on mergers and acquisitions at an international investing and wealth management firm, and also worked at a Big Four firm in Toronto, New York, and Asia. She held leadership positions at several domestic and international banks, where she was accountable for commercial and corporate banking transactions.

Shilpa is a frequent media commentator on the economy and capital markets for outlets that include the Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, Financial Post, CBC, and Canadian Mortgage Professional. She has founded several podcasts, where she has shared insights on market fluctuations, consumer behavior, and disruptive innovations reshaping industries. She received the Women in Search of Excellence (WISE) Award for her advocacy on behalf of entrepreneurs and business owners. She has been recognized by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) as one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada for her influential role in Canadian capital markets.

Shilpa earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA), graduating with High Distinction from the University of Oxford. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
