Senior Consultant, Agriculture Succession

Steve is an Agriculture Transition and Succession Advisor and a Farm Management Consultant with MNP’s Agriculture Services team in the Fraser Valley. Based in both Abbotsford and Chilliwack, he helps farm families across B.C.’s Fraser Valley, Lower Mainland, and Vancouver Island, delivering results-oriented farm management consulting and succession services.

Steve has advised farm families for more than 30 years, helping his clients build long term success and keep their operations profitable, ensuring their legacy endures for future generations. His unique blend of experience in banking and agriculture, with a focus on supply management, processing, and farm management consulting, helps his clients achieve their business, personal, and succession goals. Steve’s areas of focus include supply management, greenhouse and nursery, processing, and livestock management.

Steve’s deep connection to agriculture stems from his upbringing on a dairy farm, where he learned the importance of family, community, and the land. He uses this deep-rooted knowledge and experience as the owner of a processing facility.

With his extensive financial background, including working at two of Canada’s top banks, Steve guides farm families through difficult conversations and decisions as they navigate change, opportunities, and challenges. He offers ongoing, comprehensive consulting and advisory services to farmers and producers to help his clients make more informed decisions.

Steve studied Agri-Business Management at Fanshawe College (1984), Feed Consulting / Livestock at the University of Guelph (1994), and Critical Incident Stress Counselling at Langara College (1997). He holds a Farm Business Management Agricultural Diploma (Ag D) and is certified through the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC) and Canadian Association of Farm Advisors (CAFA).

Steve is vice-chair of the Chilliwack Agriculture Commission, a committee of the Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation (CEPCO), as well as a loans committee member of Community Futures South Fraser and a community member of the Chilliwack Agricultural and Rural Advisory Committee. Steve is passionate about giving back to his community and is the founder and chair of Agriculture for Autism, which has been raising funds and awareness since 2009 for children living on the autism spectrum and their families. Since 2014, all funds raised have supported Pacific Autism Family Network.
